When Candace Dodson-Reed attended Harvard University’s Institute for Educational Management program in 2019, she did not expect that one simple assignment would stay with her for years. Each participant was asked to create a personal and professional leadership motto... something short, intentional, and deeply authentic.
For Candace, it was more than an exercise. It became a moment of reflection on what she values most in her work and in life. After years of leading teams, mentoring others, and helping organizations grow, she realized that everything meaningful she had accomplished began with care...with listening, understanding, and believing in people’s potential. And she came up with her leadership motto: “With care, potential unleashed.”
Those four words continue to guide. They remind her that when we approach others with genuine care and curiosity, incredible things happen. People open up. Teams thrive. Possibility takes shape. Strategy happens. And that is the heart of how Candace coaches, consults, and leads: first with care, always seeking to help potential unfold.
Building on years of service as a Chief of Staff and high-level advisor, Candace Dodson-Reed is a political and public-sector coach who helps public leaders, candidates, and senior staff navigate the noise and lead when the stakes are highest.
